Patch notes for October 21
One inventory, every bag
Your inventory, satchel, sack, case, wardrobes and Mog House storage now share one window: open Items from the main menu, or press Ctrl+Shift+I. Search every bag at once, drag an item onto a bag, send it with one press, or gather a stack from every bag into one.
New
- See the whole crowd: Graphics > Camera > Players shown picks how many other players you see, from 8 up to everyone around you. Your party is always there, and so is anyone who targets you.
- Lost connections, explained: when you're disconnected, the game says why in plain words (a restart for an update, a login elsewhere, a GM, or your own connection) and takes you back to the title screen. After a restart it comes within seconds, not after a minute and a half.
- Sunlight in caves: in 26 caves, mines and tunnels the sun comes in only through gaps in the roof and the cave mouth, moving with the time of day.
- Prime and Aeonic weapons: prime weapons get their weapon skills and every special weapon its aftermath. Aeonic weapon skills gain Light or Darkness and can close Radiance and Umbra.
- Sticks & feel in the launcher: Settings > Controls has the game's stick, button prompt and d-pad settings.
Improved
- Logging in and changing zones no longer freeze for seconds while your graphics driver builds shaders.
- Every lamp lights a warm pool round itself, and each kind of lamp is tuned on its own.
- Sun shadows fade in smoothly under overhangs, and huts and shops have no sun shadows on their floors.
- Lamp shadows reach bump-mapped floors and walls, and lamp light no longer shines through characters and walls.
- Dragon's Aery's waterfalls and pools look right, and Bastok Markets' outer sea is the modern sea.
- In a crowd, the server sends what matters most to you first.
Fixed
- The command menu, the HP box and the main menu no longer show in the game's old look.
- No rain in the Cloister of Storms' tunnels, and no stray line of foam across Kazham's bay.
